Great news for all Lingo developers. Adobe planning release next version of Director at the end of this year. There is not too much info, but check this link with notes from MAX 2007. Scroll down to 'Director 11 Sneak Preview ' & 'Meet the Development Team: Director 11'
Short list of new features:
- DirectX9 support
- Flash 9 Player support
- integration with Adobe products
- full unicode support
- new bitmap filters (like in Flash CS3)
- displacements & perlin noise
- new script windows

New 3D Max 9 do not have W3D exporter. There is lots of talks about this on DIR3D-L list, does this mean what 3D Shockwave is dead? Probably, will see 
Darrel Plant post very nice article at his blog about way, how 3D can appear inside next version of Flash Player. As we can see there is nothing hard to do this. Now we have BitmapData, Matrices, Geometry. Why not 3D?
